Panafest 2007

Cool, new products are afoot at Panavision.  They held the first Panafest at their Woodland Hills location  to show off and reacquaint the production community to the services available.  Here’s a very brief sample of what was shown.  If you visit their website, you can watch a webcast outlining all the new products.

Most likely, as part of the marriage with Plus 8 Digital, Panavision is offering and equipping 2/3″ video with Panavision accessories.  Here you see a Sony F23 but they also had a Panasonic 3000 camera equipped.

New film camera.  A new Millennium is available, the XL2.  It is small!  Now available with frame rates of 3-50 frames and a new video assist offering a sharper and more sensitive sensor.  Also notice the new battery mount, the XLOB.  It also has the new PCZ, T2.8, 19-90mm (4.5 to 1) spherical zoom.

2-Perf is also available in a updated Platinum.  Personally, I’m hoping to shoot with one of these cameras early next year on a feature.  More to come.
