My wife was scheduled to do a tasting today and it fell through. In the interest of “waste-not-want-not” we shot some pictures of the food she was going to present. Here’s a batch.
Food Porn – Fall came early.
Ah, food! Dinner with the in-laws afforded me another opportunity to take some more food pictures. (I think we’re at about 14 pages worth of book right now.) It was a quite a sight to see – as plates gets served, the room lights come off and the photography lighting comes on (no flashes here). Serve, click, repeat.
Things are kinda slow right now, so you’ll likely see more of food pictures in the coming weeks. But I might have some exciting news next week – wait and see. Till then, enjoy the food if only from a distance.

Food Porn… the meal continues.
We’re almost done with the hamburger series. With the holidays now upon us, expect to see some traditional and not so traditional dishes in the coming months. Bon appétit.

Food Porn
As many of you already know, my wife is a chef. Lately, she’s been considering writing a book and improving her web presence.
To get thing going, we started taking pictures of new dishes she’s creating. For those of you familiar with foodie magazines, you’ll find these and subsequent picture an homage to the photography of Saveur and especially Gourmet magazine. It’s food photography that boarders on art. Great stuff.
Below are the results from our fist run – it helps that she’s done food styling before.
The Fiesta Burger (I call it a Siesta Burger – it’s not a yawner, it just makes me sleepy after eating it), the Taco Burger, and finished up with homemade Lemon and Honey Buttermilk Ice Cream. (And yes, it is good. Hey, someone has to do the QC!)

And still some more porn from tonight’s meal… A Greek and Chickpea Lamb Burger. Next, will be the French.

PS. I want to thank Jay for the gift of light. The last time he was in town, he gave me a light box.
"My Beautiful One" – music video
Here’s a quick-look-see at some frame grabs from the latest music video I lensed featuring the singer Damon Dae and directed by Teo. It’s a great R&B song, which is a nice change (the “great” part is not a dig but rather the fact that it’s an R&B song is nice) and it’s helmed by a smart director (which is always nice).
We shot it using the Panasonic HVX200 in DVCPro HD. We also did some off-speed playback. Our playback was sped up by 150%, 133% and 125%. The effect is that when our singer sings he appears to be in slow motion by is still singing in time with the music. I know it’s a bit of old-hat for music videos but I still love it. You’ll perhaps be surprised to find out that the exterior footage, while looking like it was shot at night, was actually shot during the late morning under the full sun of a clear Indian summer sky.

UPDATE: The music video screened tonight at the Bungalow Lounge to an audience of friends, family, and industry folk. It was very well received – let’s hope it turns into more shoots!
