First meeting…

Yesterday was a busy day.  I had a shoot at Merle Norman, tried taking care of issues with an upcoming music video, and then a call I had to deal with.  That call…  Well, let’s go back a bit.

In December, I got a call from a UPM who got my name from Ryan Sheridan – a Digital Image Tech I’ve known since he started working in production.  Small world since I also learned that the producer is someone I met when I visited the set of “the Mullets”.  The UPM asked that I send my reel to the show’s producer and that it was for a Comedy Central pilot being produced by Happy Madison – Adam Sandler’s production company.  I didn’t think much about it at the time and really thought I was out of the running until I got that call yesterday.  It was the UPM asking if I had time to come in and meet with the producer. I said “yes”, they sent me the script, and today I went.

It was at Sunset-Gower Studios (formerly Columbia Pictures).  (If only they shot the show there, I could walk to work.)  There I met with the producer, the director and the writer – who will also be the voice of one of the characters and also an actor. The meeting went great.  I liked them and I fairly sure they liked me.  On more than one occasion someone commented how much they liked my reel.  Now I’m just waiting to see if they’re going to go with me or if there’s someone else in the wings.

At least now the they know I exist and that might also lead to other opportunities. Oh, what’s the show you ask?  Well, I’m not telling for now.  But stay tuned…
